庭の年始客 / New Year's Guests in the Garden

幸先の良い    /  A Promising Start 

New Year's serene sentiments were broken by the chirping and the agile movements of the first visitors.  The newly-set birdfeeder has been animated by the brisk traffic of birds.

The drama unfolding around it is far more entertaining than the cheap TV programs.

Their survival race and community networking somehow feed my imagination and I'm marveled at the unlimited flights and sharp senses of those small creatures.

Their droppings in my soil will surely come into bud in spring not only in the garden but in my mind.  Thanks to the welcome guests, my new year started off with a promising tone.

新年の静けさが年賀客の鳴き声と素早い動きで破られました。 取り付けたばかりの餌台は鳥の忙しない行き来でにぎやかになりました。

そこで繰り広げられるドラマはくだらないTV番組よりもはるかに楽しませてくれます。
その生き残りをかけた戦いや群れの連帯などが何となく私の想像力を掻き立て、又彼らの限りない飛翔や鋭い感覚にただただ驚愕するのみです。

土に落ちた彼らの糞は春にはきっと庭だけでなく私の心にも芽吹いてくれることでしょう。
有難いゲストのお蔭で、幸先の良い新年の始まりとなりました。
